Markus Muller is set to become the youngest-ever Stormer – but is this the right time to blood him at Vodacom URC level?
The 18-year-old has been named on the bench for Saturday’s top-of-the-log clash against the Glasgow Warriors at Cape Town Stadium.
“We wanted to play Markus this season,” explained coach John Dobson on Friday. “He’s a great player and it’s important to show that if you come through our system, you’ll get an opportunity.
“Our plan is to give him 10 or 15 minutes at a high level. He’s probably not the first guy on, but we want him to experience it.”

Due to his Stormers call-up, Muller will not feature for the Junior Springboks in their opening U20 Rugby Championship match against Argentina in Gqeberha on Monday.
