The Blitzboks will head into the final two tournaments of the SVNS World Championship without two young stars.
Netwerk24 reports that Zander Reynders and Nabo Sokoyi are both sidelined with shoulder injuries.
The Blitzboks are in action in Valladolid, Spain, from 29-31 May, before rounding out the season in Bordeaux, France, the following weekend.
Forward Reynders continues to battle the shoulder injury that sidelined him earlier in the campaign, while playmaker Sokoyi recently underwent shoulder surgery.
Coach Philip Snyman is expected to name a 14-man touring squad before trimming it to 13 players ahead of each tournament.
Experienced forwards Ryan Oosthuizen, Impi Visser, Zain Davids, Siviwe Soyizwapi, David Brits and Jayden Nell are expected to be included, while in the backs, Snyman is likely to again rely on Selvyn Davids, Ronald Brown, Shilton van Wyk, Quewin Nortje, Donavan Don, Sebastiaan Jobb and Tristan Leyds.

That leaves Grant de Jager, Ricardo Duarttee, Dewald Human and Gino Cupido competing for the last remaining squad place.
The Blitzboks won the regular-season SVNS series, after winning four out of six tournaments, and the first World Championship tournament in Hong Kong.
They take on Great Britain, Kenya and Australia in Pool A in Valladolid.
