Edinburgh coach Sean Everitt has included three South Africans in his match 23 for Friday night’s clash against the Sharks at Hive Stadium.
Pierre Schoeman starts at loosehead prop, with former Sharks hooker/flank Dylan Richardson and prop Boan Venter on the bench.
Schoeman and Richardson have both represented Scotland, while Venter made his Bok debut last year.
There are three changes to the team that edged Zebre last week.
Cammy Scott replaces Ross Thompson at flyhalf, while Glen Young and Tom Currie come in for Liam McConnell and Connor Boyle – both of whom picked up concussions against Zebre – in the loose trio.
Edinburgh are 12th on the Vodacom URC log – six points behind the Sharks – and out of playoff contention.
