Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to attend Friday’s Super Rugby Pacific clash between the NSW Waratahs and Moana Pasifika.
The royal couple will be hosted by Rugby Australia chief Phil Waugh in a private suite at the Sydney Football Stadium, marking Harry’s return to Australian rugby shores more than two decades after England’s famous World Cup triumph.
Waugh said the visit was a fitting moment, with Australia gearing up to host the 2027 World Cup.
“Harry loves his rugby and we are looking forward to hosting him and Meghan at Friday night’s game,” Waugh told ESPN.
“Australian audiences will remember Harry celebrating as England held aloft the Webb Ellis Cup on these shores in 2003.”

Waugh was Wallabies vice-captain when England flyhalf Jonny Wilkinson slotted a drop goal deep into extra time at Stadium Australia to deny the hosts a famous victory.
Security preparations have already been completed at the venue ahead of the Sussexes’ visit, which is their first to Australia since 2018.
Prince Harry is also expected to host several of his Invictus Games colleagues at the match.
