Wilco Louw is focused on finishing his Vodacom Bulls chapter with a bang.
The powerhouse tighthead is set to rejoin the Stormers in July after three seasons in Pretoria, adding extra spice to Saturday’s Vodacom URC north-south derby at Loftus Versfeld.
But Louw insists there will be no divided loyalties.
He will be wearing a light blue jersey “without any stripes”.
“I’m grateful that I got the chance to play for the Bulls again. It’s a great group of players here and it’s been three incredible seasons with so many good memories,” Louw told Netwerk24.
“But my time at the Bulls isn’t over yet. I would like to finish my chapter here on a high.”
MARCELL: Bulls wary of Stormers threat
Saturday’s clash promises to be another bruising instalment of one of South African rugby’s fiercest rivalries.
“The north-south derby is always a big one on the calendar. We already played earlier this season in the Cape and it was an incredible match. It will be the same again on Saturday.”
Despite the traditional advantage of a 2pm Highveld kick-off at Loftus, Louw believes altitude alone will not decide the contest.
“I wouldn’t say it counts that much in our favour. Teams are so fit and well-conditioned these days and many overseas teams have come to Loftus and won despite the altitude.

“It’s about which team plays the best rugby on the day. We must arrive with the right mindset and be accurate.
“We are preparing thoroughly for another titanic battle against a very good Stormers pack.”
