Two World Cup winners on track for Bok tour

The Springboks will have two experienced Springboks back in the mix for their end-of-year tour starting on 1 November against Japan at Wembley.

According to Netwerk24, winger Kurt-Lee Arendse, has been running in practice again and showing no ill-effects from the ankle injury he sustained against the Wallabies at Ellis Park.

REPORT: Sacha breaks record as Boks take charge of title race

The Bulls are confident that he’ll be fully fit to join them on their European tour which begins on 11 October against Ulster. Those three matches should then get him back up to speed to be part of the Boks’ gruelling, five-Test November series which includes matches against the French and the Irish.

Lock Lood de Jager is also reportedly progressing well and that his hip injury sustained in the Test against the All Blacks at Eden Park, is not as bad as first thought.

This means he could resume his very successful partnership in the Bok engine room with Eben Etzebeth – which stretches 41 Tests – for the year-end tour.

OPINION: Sacha’s earned Carter comparison

Another Bok lock, Jean Kleyn, seems to be over the knee injury sustained against the Barbarians in Cape Town earlier this year and played in Munster’s opening URC match against the Scarlets on Saturday.
