The Stormers can expect a fired-up Scarlets team in Llanelli on Friday night.
The Welsh club has had a frustrating fortnight – starting the Vodacom URC season with a 34-21 defeat to Munster before their round-two clash against Connacht was postponed due to Storm Amy.
The Scarlets were stranded on a plane for nearly nine hours after their flight from Bristol to Dublin was diverted to Manchester.
“It was a long day for everyone, and a long morning because we got back home around 6:30 or 7am on Saturday,” said coach Dwayne Peel.
“It was disappointing from a rugby perspective not to get over and play the game, but it was not great preparation the day before to be stuck on a flight for that long.
“Fortunately, we had the weekend to recover, and the boys have trained well this week for what is a big game.”
Centre Johnny Williams, who had been set to captain the Scarlets in Galway, said the squad’s frustration had turned into motivation.
“We were revved up and excited to right some wrongs from Munster,” he said. “We didn’t get that opportunity and it was far from ideal what happened, but it means that we are fresh from having no game. We are ready to rip into the Stormers.”

The hosts have been boosted by the return of Springbok hooker Marnus van der Merwe and flyhalf Sam Costelow, who is back after recovering from a head injury.
The Stormers, meanwhile, will be aiming to maintain their unbeaten start to the season after home wins against Leinster and the Ospreys.
