The Springbok Women’s Sevens completed a perfect weekend in Tunisia by powering to the Rugby Africa Women’s Sevens Cup title and securing qualification for January’s standalone Challenger Series event in Dubai.
All this without conceding a single point.
South Africa signed off with a composed 22-0 win over Kenya in Sunday’s final, capping a run of dominant performances that showcased their defensive steel and attacking precision.
The Bok Women had earlier swept aside Ghana and Madagascar in the knockout rounds to maintain the momentum that carried them unbeaten through the pool stages.

The shutout against Kenya underlined the team’s growth under pressure. After a tight opening spell, Shiniqwa Lamprecht broke the deadlock with a sharp strike from a set-piece, giving the Bok Women a 7-0 half-time lead.
From there, they shifted gears. Simamkele Namba finished a sweeping movement straight after the restart, Patience Mokone added a classy solo effort, and Nadine Roos closed out the tournament with the final try.
Across the weekend, South Africa blended pace, power and accuracy to overwhelm every opponent. Lamprecht, Namba, Maria Tshiremba, Ayanda Malinga and others all made telling contributions as the team racked up points while keeping their own tryline untouched.
The victory secures the Bok Women a place in the eight-team Division Three Challenger event in Dubai – an important stepping stone in their push up the global sevens ladder.
