Iran stands firm as diplomatic efforts remain indirect

Iran has reiterated its uncompromising position as pressure mounts for a diplomatic resolution to the ongoing conflict. A senior Iranian official emphasized that Tehran will not accept any agreement unless its core conditions are fully met, signaling a continued hard line despite international calls for de-escalation.

Speaking in Arabic, Mojtaba Ferdowsi-Pour, head of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Interests Office in Egypt, stated that Iran seeks a “balanced and fair diplomatic solution” based on a win-win framework between Tehran and Washington. He stressed that any agreement must ensure parity between both sides.

Iran has outlined five key conditions to end the war, including a complete halt to what it describes as US and Israeli aggression and targeted assassinations. Ferdowsi-Pour also warned that any location hosting US or Israeli military elements could fall within Iran’s range, while calling for patience and eventual joint investigations into the conflict.

Despite ongoing tensions, Iran confirmed there are no direct negotiations with the United States. Instead, communication continues through intermediaries.

Meanwhile, Washington has proposed a 15-point plan aimed at ending the war, including restrictions on Iran’s nuclear ambitions and missile capabilities, though Tehran has yet to engage directly.
