The Cheetahs have received a boost with an impactful backline player signing a new two-year contract.
Wing Prince Nkabinde’s decision to extend his stay in Bloemfontein comes amid renewed optimism at the Free State club, with World Cup-winning Springbok scrumhalf Faf de Klerk also set to join the Cheetahs later this year.

According to Rapport, the 25-year-old Nkabinde has attracted interest from overseas clubs, but ultimately opted to remain in Bloemfontein.
Nkabinde, who stands 1.79m tall and weighs 94kg, was born in Leandra in Mpumalanga and attended Hoogenhout High School in Bethal. Before joining the Cheetahs in 2024, he made his mark with UJ in the Varsity Cup.
His contract extension is seen as another positive step for the Cheetahs as the club continues to stabilise after recent financial uncertainty.

A consortium of local businessmen stepped in to provide much-needed backing, helping ensure the Cheetahs avoided bankruptcy and retained a competitive playing squad.
The club has also benefited from the continued support of key sponsors who have remained loyal despite the Cheetahs losing all four of their EPCR Challenge Cup matches earlier this season.
The Cheetahs are currently competing in the SA Cup where they lost their opener to the Boland Cavaliers in Bloemfontein before bouncing back in Potchefstroom on Friday to trounce the Leopards 64-7.
