English Premiership champions Bath have bolstered their scrum with a Springbok ahead of next season.
Joining from the Sale Sharks on a two-year deal, loose forward Dan du Preez brings with him a wealth of Premiership experience.
Du Preez previously played for the Sharks, who had hoped to bring him back to Durban.
He has six Test caps, making his debut for the Boks against France in Paris in 2017. His last appearance came against Argentina in Port Elizabeth in 2021.
The 30-year-old, whose usual position is No 8, can also play flank and lock.
“I’m really excited to be joining Bath,” said Du Preez. “It’s a great club with huge ambition and incredible support behind it, and I can’t wait to get started and contribute to what the squad is building.”

Bath coach Johann van Graan said: “Our DNA is being tough to beat and Dan du Preez fits that mould perfectly.
“A ball-carrier, a set piece expert and an excellent defender, we are looking forward to seeing what Dan will add to our group in the coming years.
“His test and English Premiership experience will be very valuable and, most importantly, he is a brilliant, family man.”
