Stellenberg continued their sizzling start to the season, while Monument ran riot at the Noordvaal Cup in the pick of the weekend’s schoolboy action.
The Jade Brigade remain the No 1-ranked schools side following a 38-10 victory over Wynberg in Bellville on Saturday.
Wynberg struck first through Chad Campbell, who dotted down in the corner, but Stellenberg responded through Ralton Rhode.
The hosts then made their next two visits to the 22 count, with Carlo Brink and Emile Cilliers crossing to give Stellenberg a 19-10 lead at the break. The momentum stayed with the hosts in the second half, as Juvan Burden scored twice before Jean-Roux Wessels sealed the win.
In other Western Cape results, Hugenote dispatched New Orleans, Porterville beat Brackenfell, and Robertson shared the spoils with Tygerberg in a 31-31 thriller.
In the Noordvaal, Monument scored 13 tries in an 85-19 demolition of EG Jansen, Garsfontein bagged a 49-24 win against Helpmekaar, Waterkloof trounced Rustenburg and Middelburg edged Menlopark (26-25).
In a tight KwaZulu-Natal derby, Hilton go the better of Michaelhouse to extend their winning streak to seven matches. Elsewhere, Westville and Kearsney drew 14-14, while Maritzburg College hammered St Charles (45-5).
In the Eastern Cape, Dale thrashed Port Rex 52-24 and Graeme College defeated St Andrew’s 34-22. Selborne, too, produced a dominant display in a 72-15 win against Ooskus Gim.
In the Free State, Sentraal eked out a 19-15 result against St John’s from New Zealand, Welkom Gim outmuscled Otto du Plessis (56-13) and Bethlehem Voortrekker downed Dr Malan.
