Bulls give Bok duo U23 Cup hit-out

Two Springboks will start for the Vodacom Bulls XV in Saturday’s SA Rugby U23 Cup match against the Stormers XXIII at Loftus Versfeld.

Lock Nicolaas Janse van Rensburg and veteran centre Jan Serfontein bring Test experience to a side captained by 32-year-old former Exeter Chiefs forward Jannes Kirsten.

Up to seven over-age players can be included in a match 23 for the U23 Cup, with four in the starting lineup.

Twenty-two-year-old Neil le Roux, who recently left Bath, starts at scrumhalf.

The Phiwe Nomlomo-coached Bulls XV suffered an opening 27-24 defeat to the Lions XV in Polokwane two weeks ago.

Saturday’s match kicks off at 2pm.
