The Glasgow Warriors and Leinster strengthened their positions on the Vodacom URC log with victories on Friday night.
Glasgow extended their lead at the top with a 31-10 bonus-point win over Benetton at Scotstoun Stadium.
Coach Franco Smith’s side moved to 55 points, nine ahead of the second-placed Stormers, who face Edinburgh at Cape Town Stadium on Saturday night.

Despite a slow start, the hosts produced a dominant second-half display, with tries from winger Fergus Watson, lock Max Williamson, replacement hooker Seb Stephen and replacement prop Sam Talakai securing maximum points.
Glasgow’s attention now shifts to an Investec Champions Cup last-16 clash against the Vodacom Bulls at home next Saturday.
The result was good news for the Sharks who are in a scrap to make the top eight and the playoffs.
JP Pietersen’s men, having beaten Cardiff 21-15 in Durban on Friday night, moved up to 10th and opened a five-point buffer over Benetton, now 12th.

Meanwhile, Leinster returned to winning ways with a 36-19 victory against the Scarlets in Dublin.
After recent defeats to Cardiff and Glasgow, coach Leo Cullen’s side responded with a clinical attacking display, with wingers Tommy O’Brien and Joshua Kenny both scoring twice and further tries from centre Garry Ringrose and flank Max Deegan sealing a bonus-point win.
The result lifted Leinster to third on the log, level on points with the Stormers. Leinster lie four points ahead of Ulster, who travel to face Zebre on Saturday night.
