Around 500,000 spectators gathered along the route from Parnell Square to Kevin Street, where 3,000 participants and 12 floats took part under the theme “Roots”. The parade featured performers from the United States and Scotland, as well as Irish music groups and acrobatic shows.

The programme extended across the capital from 14 to 17 March, with events including a large céilí at Merrion Square and concerts at venues such as the 3Arena and National Concert Hall. Actor Paul Mescal served as grand marshal of the parade.
Organisers said the festival aimed to highlight Irish heritage at a time of global uncertainty, while similar celebrations took place in cities such as New York and Chicago, drawing millions.
