700 bagpipers and 1,300 participants flooded the streets of the Spanish capital city with a celebration of Celtic culture and music.
The parade was a part of Madrid’s 4th Ireland Week, a cultural initiative promoted by Tourism Ireland, and will continue until next Tuesday – the day in honor of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland.
St. Patrick’s Day, which is celebrated annually on March 17, is widely celebrated by Irish communities in many cities outside of Ireland.
