The Bulls are scrambling to solve a looming flyhalf crisis, and a former Springbok could be the man they are quietly trying to lure back to South Africa.
Coach Johan Ackermann has reportedly asked Bulls CEO Edgar Rathbone to convince seasoned South African playmaker Curwin Bosch to make the move to Loftus Versfeld.
According to Rapport, the Pretoria side had initially targeted Tinus de Beer, who was even willing to pay his own transfer fee to join the Bulls.

But his Welsh club, the Dragons, refused to release him early from his contract, forcing the Bulls to look elsewhere.
The search has now turned to Bosch, who’s currently plying his trade in France, who could potentially fill the void that will be left by the retirement of Johan Goosen.
Ackermann’s options at No 10 have already been stretched.
Former Junior Springbok flyhalf Liam Koen has been allowed to join the Griquas, while Kade Wolhuter – currently on loan from the Lions – faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a serious knee injury.
That has left Ackermann largely relying on Handré Pollard and Keagan Johannes to guide the Bulls at flyhalf in the URC and Investec Champions Cup.

Bosch has two Springbok caps and has been rebuilding his career in France after leaving the Sharks in 2024. He’s been a regular presence for Brive in the Pro D2. In the 2024-25 season he featured in 25 matches, playing 1,874 minutes and scoring 209 points. This season he has already appeared in 11 matches, logging 752 minutes and 42 points.
