Oscar Jegou has been cited for an alleged eye-gouge on Ewan Ashman during France’s Six Nations clash against Scotland at Murrayfield.
The incident occurred during a Scotland maul in the second half when the loose forward’s right hand appeared to make contact with the Scotland prop’s face.
Referee Angus Gardner did not penalise Jegou and the incident was not flagged by TMO Brett Conan.
Jegou, 22, will appear before an independent disciplinary hearing on Tuesday.

Former Test referee Nigel Owens said on the BBC broadcast that the incident should have been reviewed during the game.
“It definitely should have been looked at. It doesn’t look good to be honest.
“That player will be in a bit of trouble. There’ll be a process in place now that will deal with that, but it should have been looked at in the game because it was quite clear what the actions were.
“The TMO would have all the footage. When you look at it, you’ve got to bring it to the referee’s attention,” he said.

Eye-gouging offences are treated seriously in rugby.
Last November, Springbok lock Eben Etzebeth received a 12-match suspension following a similar incident against Wales in Cardiff. He is only due to return to competitive action later this month.
