It has become clear why the Stormers opted not to make Dylan Maart’s loan move permanent.
The Griquas wing has instead signed for the Vodacom Bulls.
According to Netwerk24, financial considerations and age profile are the two main reasons why Maart will not remain in Cape Town.
The Bulls reportedly offered the 29-year-old almost twice as much to move north.
The Stormers are also focused on their Project 2029, in which younger players with potential for development are prioritised, and Maart does not fit that profile.
Stormers backline coach Dawie Snyman confirmed on Monday that Maart will finish the 2025-26 season with the Cape side.

Maart will then represent Griquas in the Currie Cup before heading to Pretoria.
The Bulls reportedly view Maart as a replacement for Springbok wing Kurt-Lee Arendse, who is set to return to the Mitsubishi Sagamihara DynaBoars in Japan at the end of the season.
